Sheep, it turns out, are the most needy of animals; they are weak and dumb. Sheep cannot hunt, fight, or flee. They need a Good Shepherd.
The Bible calls us sheep a lot! (Not very flattering.)
A Shepherd needs to be attentive, protective, communicative, and diligently brave.
Our So What?
Oh, give ear, Shepherd of Israel, Thou who dost lead Joseph like a flock; Thou who art enthroned above the cherubim, shine forth! Psalm 80:1
